Historic Easterbrook Hall Will Host The World Mountain Bike Conference

The next World Mountain Bike Conference will be held in May 2009 at Easterbrook Hall, Crichton Estate in Dumfries, South West Scotland. This hall, an elegant art deco building built in 1930s, was completely refurbished in 2006 and transformed into a multi-purpose conference centre and events center.

Dan London, event organizer, said that we are thrilled to host our conference in such an idyllic and historic location so close to many of the amazing mountain biking facilities of the region.

Dumfries’ Crichton estate was established in 1834. It comprises approximately 100 acres of beautiful parkland, with many impressive red sandstone buildings. These buildings are now part of the award-winning University Campus and Business Park. The Crichton Development Company manages the versatile and elegantly renovated Hall, which hosts conferences, balls and dinners as well as other major events throughout the year.

Angela McIntyre, the Venue Manager, stated: We are delighted to host this event and look forward to welcoming delegates from around the globe for traditional Scottish hospitality
