Schwalbe Re-Releases Fat Albert All Mountain Tire Rear And Front Specific Treads

Schwalbe Tires’ 6 cm all-mountain, big-volume tire Fat Albert (a smaller-casing version also exists). It is still a popular seller because it is so lightweight. In fact, Fat Albert was the first large-volume light-weight tires. Schwalbe now has a new generation of all-rounders.

Fat Albert treads for front and rear will make an already great-riding tire even more enjoyable.

Schwalbe has completely redesigned and created every feature. Schwalbe technician Markus Hachmeyer promised that the new Fat Albert Front and Rear tires are noticeably more grippy, quieter on hard surfaces, easier to ride at high altitudes, and much better in cornering. This was demonstrated by Johannes Fischbach, a freerider. He won the German 4Cross title in Wilthen, Saxony in May 2008.

Strong Features: Snakeskin and Triple Nano-Compound, grippy U Blocks

Low weight and large volume The core competencies of Fat Albert remain the same. The snake skin is strong and protects the tire from sharp rocks, which could otherwise rapidly tear apart the sides of light-weight racing tires. Markus Hachmeyer said that the snake skin is one of our most important discoveries for Mountainbikes. It is worth the 50g weight penalty.

Rolling resistance has been greatly improved by new nano-sized polymers. The 200 nanometer-sized particles that were previously considered to be huge have been reduced to ten nanometers. 0,00001 millimeter. This has two benefits: Internal friction is decreased, which in turn reduces rolling resistance. Because smaller particles have a larger surface area than those with a greater surface area,? The greater contact area results in better grip. This results in an exceptional Allround-Compound that is used for the tread center. Below lies a very easy rolling base compound, while the shoulder compounds are grippy. Hachmeyer stressed that all three components make up the unique Triple Nano-Compound.

U-Blocks provide additional grip. These specially-shaped lugs were placed by Schwalbe technicians against the direction that the wheel rotates. This turned on its head traditional wisdom that lugs should always follow the wheel rotation. Their positioning and the U-Shape design gives you more cornering grip. The tire will naturally want to go out of curves. U-Blocks prevent this from happening by lifting the tire due to their forward-facing design. This surprising result is less understeer and better cornering stability.

Fat Albert Front & Rear

The Front version improves steering and braking performance. U-Blocks that are placed at the shoulder grip in curves and provide precise steering.

Fat Albert Rear offers powerful propulsion. For better control in corners, Fat Albert Rear has U-Blocks that run in the traditional direction. This makes the combination of Fat Albert Front and rear, with perfectly placed U-Block lugs for Alpencross, undisputedly the best.

This is the latest version. Like the Fat Albert before it, this incarnation? Because durability is more important than saving every gram, lugs that are strong and durable are essential.

TUBELESS OPTIONS AND FLAT PROTECTION AVAILABLE

Double Defense uses an extra HD Ceramic Guard to prevent penetration punctures in thorny regions. This is especially important.

Fat Albert’s tubeless tire version is slightly heavier but stronger. The internal layer of butyl is applied to the tire to maintain air retention. This combination ensures that deep tread cuts cannot lower air pressure. Perforation punctures can be sealed with a conventional patch inside the tire. The side walls are protected by the Snakeskin fabric.

Specialist dealers can order Fat Albert Front or Rear in sizes 2,25 or 2,102 cm starting in 2009. The Front & Rear twin packs are available from specialist dealers in sizes 2,25 and 2,102 cm starting in 2009.
